  • The Hit Man.

From the famous Kronk Gym in Detroit, Michigan, Thomas Hearns parlayed a tall, lanky 6'1" frame, a massive 78-inch reach, and a flicker jab to become one of the most successful middleweights in history.

Known mostly for his “Four Kings” era, where he engaged in superfights with Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, and Roberto Duran. Regardless of his opponent, Hearns was excitement personified and a perennial fight-of-the-year candidate.

Hearns made history by boxing in five different decades and becoming the first fighter to win world championships in four weight classes, then five.

We are proud to nominate Thomas Hearns for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
