  • There are a few jockeys who have surpassed wins in professional horse racing, but Eddie Arcaro is the greatest "money" jockey of all-time when it came to the big events.

Arcaro won his first of 17 Triple Crowns in 1938 when he rode his horse to a win at the Kentucky Derby. He went on to win the prestigious event four more times and was also six-time winner at Preakness and Belmont. Arcaro's 17 Triple Crowns remain a record, and he is still the only jockey to have won all three Triple Crown events in a calendar year twice.

He would also be active behind the scenes, spearheading the creation of the Jockey’s Guild.

We are proud to nominate Eddie Arcaro for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
