“He could go all the way!!!”
That is only one of the many staples of Chris Berman’s sayings that are repeated across the United States every Sunday, and will be for the next century.
Chris Berman is as synonymous with the National Football League as he is with ESPN, the company he joined as the host of Sunday NFL Countdown for 30 years. Berman voiced the synopsis of every NFL Sunday with a flair like no other, and the nicknames he gave players became part of their identity.
Berman was a multi-time National Sportscaster of the Year, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame named him the 2010 recipient of the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award. He will forever be interwoven into the fabric of professional football.
We are proud to nominate Chris Berman for the United States Athletic Hall of Fame.
